Tomorrow, I’m Ready

Tomorrow, we’ll finally know who’s valedictorian, salutatorian and the honorable mentions. Knowing that it will betomo rrow, I can’t help but feel tense and depressed for the past 2 weeks. I’ve always been the 2nd honor, so you’d probably know how hard it will be for me to see that I’ve gotten lower in the rankings.
But after much reflection I understood that whatever is given to me, I should accept. And if it is not as I want it to be, I should not be sad at all because I know that I did my best and worked so hard (you all are witnesses with what I have been blogging about in the past few months – school). And since I did my best, there’s nothing to feel guilty about.
Instead of breaking my heart for something I haven’t seen yet, I decided that I will use this week to smile and be my normal self with my friends. I don’t want them to feel down because of me, nor do I want that myself. And besides, all my hard work and hopes, they would not be wasted no matter what. This is because all my hard work, in spite of my mistakes and faults, I lift up to God and not anymore to my own satisfaction.
So tomorrow, I’m ready. But of course, I’m praying and hoping that I would become salutatorian. Right now, my thoughts are put into these three sentences:
“I worked with all my might. I prayed with all my heart. The rest I leave to God!”
These are the words of Cory Aquino when she was President. I know I haven’t prayed much but the time I have left before the announcement I should put into prayer.
